A Double Pruning
Pacific v Black Rose of Highgate CC at Broxbourne Sports Club  Sun 20 Sep 2009 at 12.30pm
Won 117 runs
Friendly fixture

Darren Tempany smashed 134 not out off 72 balls as Pacific raced to 299 to help secure their second win against Black Rose this season. The pitch was not big enough for the Aussie giant, who whacked nine sixes and 12 fours. Black Rose ought to have had fielders positioned the other side of the river as ball after ball was dispatched.

Toby Chasseaud, opening the batting, had played the anchor role with a steady 89 and Jon Webley chipped in with 26.

With Black Rose a couple of players short, Pacific lent them a sub fielder. In a comic twist, Lahrie Mohamed was caught out by Jon Brown, and then himself caught out Justin Roy.

Black Rose could only manage 182 in response. Skipper Chris Atkin claimed three wickets and James Gleadow took two. James Smith and Oliver Haill bagged one each.

Several catches went down in the field. Must try harder. In total Lahrie "ball magnet" Mohamed had an incredible four chances and took two of them.

Navid refused to bat for Black Rose because he'd been put at the bottom of the order, leading to much swearing. It's a funny old game.
