Soak after Daz
Pacific v Black Rose of Highgate CC at Highgate Woods  Sun 15-Jul-2007 at 2pm
Abandoned No Result

Two heavy thundery downpours left a saturated wicket & no prospect of further play in Highgate Woods yesterday. Balck Rose's trademark positive batting & running between (& ofton on) the wicket kept the pressure on the fielding side.

The slow low bounce wsa difficlut to negotiate for the opening pair & an across the line shot & a wrong line defencsive sho=t accounted for the 2 openers Inam (17) & Shah (2) as darryl Roberts straight bowling was rewarded with 2 successful LBW appeals.

Shoib & Kabir made light of the conditions countering with good foot movement & lofted shots into vacant gaps but they survived chances as the slippery ball saw them escape a sure run out & a huge top edge to point one ball before the teams came off for the last time.

The trees around the boundary did not provide sufficient shelter sadly & those who stayed to munch a crushed soggy tea experienced.

XI versus Black Rose are:-Chris Atkin, Rob Bastin, Joe Bennett, Lucius Faisal, James Gleadow, Matt Holliday, Peter Hollman, Darryl Roberts, James Smith, Jon Webley* & Jai Rajaraman.
