The first indoor win since Hertford B were beaten in November 2002 & it was a marvelous team effort. Sammy Purcel said "yesterday was relieving to finally win a match indoors. a win that i feel we progressed to! "
Indeed, the team was all as the wickets, catches, run outs & runs were spread around. It was a well lead side by Conrad Chandler in his 1st season & it was he who was instrumental in making Jon Webley the final piece in the jigsaw in what has been an amazing season for the latter.
Jon's 25 retired was the base for Pacific's total of 92-4 & unlike last week Jon & Conrad's bowling fire power lead the way, backed up by the best fielding peerformance of the campaign & topped off by John Baglivi's well tapped in experience as the latter picked up the wicket of Tony Duckett (33) as he threatened to win the game single handedly.
Pacific probably caught Highgate at the right time - it was their 3rd game of the day having already played twice in the morning at Lords at they seemed fatigued. On Hollman's run out to what seemed a suicidal run he said "They had a 100% misfield record so it seemed on"
VI:- Conrad Chandler*, Rob Bastin+, John Baglivi, Sammy Purcell, Jon Webley & Peter Hollman.
