An eventful Sunday morning for yours truly including an ungainly u turn in Holloway & ended with all the Pacific participants being informed by 11.30am including Jon Hardisty on his way back from Gosport. The events leading up to this began when Captain Jeff from Chats rang to say the pitch with a tear was now a bare pitch at one end & while the outfield was wet & the rain held off, we would have a game even if we could only play at one end ! Within the hour & 2 more heavy down pours, enough aquaphobics had rung voicing concerns involving health, safety & dry cleaning bills. At 11am I got the message on my way to Newington Green to pick up stumps which was then aborted & replaced with the obligatory 45 minutes of calls, texts & emails. Thanks to Jon for his help & doing all to keep the game on while it made sense to. XI:- Chris Atkin, James Gleadow, Peter Hollman, Shane Mundie, Jon Webley*, Jon Hardisty, Tim Vanderpump, Simon Smith, Moses Hutchinson-Pascal+ Jon Brown, & Rob Allum

The pitch is damaged at one end. A strip the width of the stumps is torn back about 7 feet down the wicket. It looks quite bad, but plays ok.
