A rain interrupted game played mostly in drizzle sapped the enthusiasm of both bowling attacks.

Captain Peter Hollman tried 8 bowlers of which Mike Alexander came away with the best figures. He knew he had bowled better on other days but was happy to claim the figures on this. Indeed, he took the key wicket of Alistair Wright who had a made a century in his previous innings, also against Pacific back in September 96.
A bold attempt at the reply was punctuated by the regular fall of wickets but David Murray on his return from trekking the Himalayas made 63 as the required run rate was maintained. His dismissal with 10 overs remaining meant Pacific fore went the chase as only 3 wickets were in hand.
