Botham, Flintoff, Stokes AND Deighan
Double Wicket Competition at Wray Crescent
Sat 03 Apr 2021 at 12 noon
Won by John Deighan
Intraclub fixture

Class all-rounder John Deighan came out top of the scoring with +36 points just 3 ahead of brother Joe to win the first Double Wicket Single Winner competition on a cold day at Wray. John & batting partner Sam Howes scored 73 run partnership giving each 37 points to add to John's 3 wickets earlier for just 31 runs off his 4 overs. With no fielding points to add a net total of +36 was enough to take the trophy ahead of Joe who was joint leading wicket taker with 3-29 but who's batting partnership of 64  with Kaleem Luthra was not enough to defend John's total.
Other notables were Tom Gane who was the leading fielder with 3 catches. There are also honorable mentions to joint 3rd place James Soden & Tom Williams with +15. And to the following who all ended up on positives Sam Howes 14, Will Gingell 12.5, James McGiniggle  9 & Tom Gane 8.5. Hopefully all these performances will be realised in match winning contributions for when the real stuff starts next week. Meanwhile there's a Seniors v Juniors match tomorrow....

Batsmen bat as a pair for 8 overs. Each time a wicket falls they lose 10 runs & change ends.
At the end of the 8 overs their net total is halved & each receives that as their individual total points.

Bowlers receive 10 points for each wicket they pick up but the runs conceded off the bat & wides & no balls will also count against them.

Keepers & fielders will be awarded 1 point for each catch & run out. Keepers can also gain a point for a stumping but byes will come off their total.

Each session should be scored as a seperate innings. 1 new ball for the 1st session to be used throughout.
