Campbell Star of the North
Pacific v North Middlesex at Middx Ckt Academy  Sun 10 Nov 2002 at 6.50pm
Won by 1 Wicket
Winter 6-a-side fixture

Jonathan Campbell starred with a fine unbeaten 38 - steering Pacific home by 1 wicket with 3 balls to spare against a fancied North Middlesex side. He was ably supported by Matt Ralph - run out for 16 - and skipper John Baglivi (12). This after two direct hit run outs had stunned Pacific in the first two overs.

North Middlesex 89-4. (Shayne Rees 2-0-12-1, Jim Davies 2-0-12-1)

Pacific 90-5 (Jonathan Campbell 38*, Matt Ralph 16, John Baglivi 12)

Accurate bowling at the beginning and the end of the North Middlesex innings had pegged them back to a challenging but manageable total - despite some quickfire hitting in the middle order. A spectacular caught and bowled from Shayne Rees was the highlight of a sharp fielding display.

Pacific now need one win from their next two group matches to ensure qualification to the semi finals.

“I’m delighted with winning both games” said skipper Baglivi later. “It was a top effort from everyone – we bowled well and JC, Steve and Matt did the business with the bat.” he added.
