Pacific v Old Hendon at Away  Sat 29 Jul 2000
Friendly fixture

Having opted to bat first on a pitch offering good bounce, OH showed their batting strength.

OH: 225-6 dec King 50. D Roberts 11-2-40-2
P: 154-4. G Chapman 37* J Hardisty 33 S Lay 29. Dunn 5-4-5-1

Darryl Roberts playing in the IIs while he seeks to find his best form, was the only bowler to pick up 2 wickets, as the other 4 to fall were spread arouind the other 4 bowlers - Ian Lay, Adam Godwin, Mike Alexander & Matt Patel. The latter was noted by his Captain - Mike Alexander - as being the pick on the day, crucially taking King's wicket to a catch by Steve Lay at 1st slip, which stymied the run flow. Replying, all those who batted got in, headed by Jon Hardisty opening & top scoring.

Again Mike wanted to highlight the contribution of Gary Chapamn, making his 1st appearance on a cricket field for 16 years but showed up the more experienced with a positive innings of 37 not out & thereby, succeeding in hiding the vulnerability of Pacific's tail.
