Back but rusty
Pacific v Rose & Crown at Victoria Park Pitch 1  Wed 26-Apr-2017 at 6pm
Lost by 43 runs

A chilly Viccy Park played host to Pacific’s first game as a full-time midweek side for a few years. We lost the toss and Rose & Crown elected to bat first. They got to 146-4 with one of their players reaching 50 and retiring (as per compo rules). The game was reduced to 12 overs a side because unfortunately we conceded a lot of extras, understandably down to a fair few players not having played for a while and also a couple of deliveries which bounced a fair bit were adjudged to have been above chest high a little harshly. We had a very good opening partnership in response with Aravindan hitting a 50 and Mutz putting in a good display also.

We then had a bit of a clatter of wickets although a couple of late order players including Jaime Hargreaves hit a couple of boundaries to give us a bit of lingering hope. I think a couple of the lads need to learn to do some scoring and that we are a bit better prepared with people doing some umpiring at square leg but as it is either a bit of a new game for a few or that their midweek version is Last Man Stands up until now it wasn’t too bad.

AK - Many of the guys hadn't played for some time and we conceded a lot of extras. That made a big difference. Good crowd of guys though.
