Wray Pavilion Condemned

Dear cricket bookers As you may be aware there has been serious structural issues with the cricket pavilion (caused by subsidence), that we have been monitoring for some time. Unfortunately the building has now reached a point where it has been declared as an unsafe structure by a structural engineer and we have closed it with immediate effect pending decisions on how to manage it moving forward. While we have been aware of the problem for some time, we have not been able to secure the funding needed to carry out the extensive repairs due to the financial pressures the council is currently under. We are continuing to work on this but it is unlikely the building will be useable at any point this cricket season. We are exploring the option of temporary changing facilities, (and the costs associated with providing this), and will keep you updated on the progress. We appreciate that this is not an ideal situation and the loss of this facility may impact your decision to book. Please be aware there will still be toilet facilities available to use in the children’s playground. We hope you will continue to use Wray Crescent and if you have any further questions please let me know. Yours sincerely Barry Emmerson Grounds Maintenance Service Manager Greenspace Islington Council
