We lost for the first time since late April in yesterday's match against Graces in Greenford, bringing an end to a nine match unbeaten run in weekend cricket. After being set 228 by our opposition on a slow, low, tacky surface, Sumeet Sharma's masterful 115 kept us in contention deep into the contest. Once he'd perished going for a maximum as his partners rapidly came and went, our goose was well and truly cooked. Earlier in the piece Smith (four-fer) and Sam Howes (two-fer) stood out among the bowlers, with Davis, Chowdhury, Hussain, Saunders and Tambyrajah also making useful contributions. It wasn't our day in the field, and we rued dropping their powerful left hander at least a couple of times.
