Oh Dear
Pacific v Fulmer at Fulmer Recreation Ground  Sat 08 Aug 2009 at 2pm
Lost 85 Runs
Friendly fixture

There was no hiding place from the events at Headingly in the middle at Fulmer. Pacific succumbed to a depressingly familiar script by replaying the 2007 match. Bowlers struggled to find their lengths on the slope & so their lines become affected & consistency becomes a rare commodity.

That's not to say that even that there were no highlights even before we saw a dear run along the outfield holding up play briefly, Alex Jessop-Emmins catch at point was straight out of the Paul Collingwood mould dismissing King & breaking a difficult opening partnership. One handed catches from Moses Hutchinson-Pascal & Jon Webley should too not go unremarked. James Smith playing through back pain was the pick of the bowlers but for a fragile batting line heavily reliant on Jon Webley & Rob Bastin the home bowling was unlikely to be grabbed by the antlers.

As one sided matches can go the result was predictable once Webley was out & only James Smith could hold any onlookers' attention.
