Webbo Breaks Mosts Runs in a Season Record
Pacific v Priory Park at Cavendish Recreation Ground  Sat 12 Sep 2009 at 1pm
Lost 38 runs
Friendly fixture

Jon Webley held together a spirited run chase by the visitors on what was a warm Autumnal day thereby overtaking David Murray's club record of most runs in a season (1305 in 1997). This was not the only day for records as Captain Gleadow employed 2 bowlers with the greatest disparity in ages ( Luke Hollman (8 years old & Roy Vending (on debut) 77 years young - both of whom took wickets!)

Sadly the record breaking did not extend into success with a win over the hosts whow were Pacific's first ever Club Cricket Conference opponents on 5th May 1986. Indeed rough estimates were set that this fixture could now have been held at 15 different venues.

Opening the Priory batting, Mehul survived a difficult stumping chance from the otherwise exceptional Baglivi to pick of the bowlers Gleadow. But that was his last chance as his century was a fitting closure to the Priory Park season.

In reply, the Naveej Vinod / Jon Webley partnership caused enough alarms that up to 8 fielders patrolled the boundary, but with Amit clipping Vinod's off stump, the pressure of carrying the Pacific batting became too much thin edging left armer seamer Hitesh through to the keeper when just 9 short of a 4th 100 for the season.

Despite always acheiving the required run rate the innings closed with Gleadow's dismissal still with 7 overs unused & 39 runs required.
