Heads Turn to the Sky to Watch RAF Fly Past ...And Fuller's Winning 6
Pacific v Saracen Riffs at Barn Elms  Sat 14-Jun-2008 at 12 noon
Won 3 Wickets
Friendly fixture

Another mazing cliff hanger this time on the baks of the Thames opposite Craven Cottage. The Queens' birthday fly past of RAF tornadoes etc brought the game to a halt at one point. Later Nick Fuller recaptured that moment but more of that later.

Earlier Fuller & had pegged back the batting of Saracen Riffs with 3-12 . The back up bowling did not restrict the batting similarly & although, Giacco Bridgett, Luke Hollman &Peter Hollman did pick up wickets to interrupt the acceleration, Riffs did remarkably well to move the score on from 21 after 10 & 70 after 25 to 164. Dom & Sid kept a lid on a quick start from the visitors & Lahri Mohammed fell early & a cautious reply began. Jon Webley held the innings together again looking the class bat that he is & despite the loss cheaply of Captain Steve Lay & Matt Callendfer, found an able ally in Shayne Rees , together they put on 99 for the 5th wicket taking teh north London side to within 6 runs & 8 balls from the target. Giacco Bridgett's wicket the following ball swung the game fully round but that was when Nick Fuller came to the crease. A pushed single saw the target become 5 to tie & 6 to win & the returning Dom to take the game to the opposition. Nick Fuller then despatched the next ball for 6 as all players & onlookers gawped - that was as unexpected as one could get & almost felt ant-climatic - certainly not what Riffs had expected.

The continuingly improving hosts had the wind taken out of their sails thank to Jon Webley, Shayne Rees but especially that 6 over mid-wicket from Fuller.

XI: Matt Callender, Nick Fuller, Ian Lay, Steve Lay, Lahrie Mohammed, Luke Hollman, Shayne Rees, Jon Webley, Matt Patel Amir and Giaco Bridgett.
